On April 6, 1946, George Patton Gant was born in Andalusia. Moreover, he is the son of Edra May Worley and Pollard Revenel Gantt. In addition, George has four other siblings. Mary Ann Carter, Kyle, Caton, and the late Joe Gantt.

He attended Andalusia High School and graduated in 1964. During his time in high school, he was an all-around athlete.

For college, he took up Business at Livingston University. Furthermore, the couple met at the same University. George was also courting Brenda throughout their college years. After graduating, they tied the knot in 1968.

He then joined the United States Marine Corps shortly after their marriage. After being discharged from the Marines, George started his career in law enforcement.

Thus, he worked for the Alabama Beverage Control Board (ABC). Moreover, he became the Chief and Director for ABC due to his dedication to his work. After 25 years, he retired from his job.
